Welcome

Welcome to the Southwestern Live Steamers ride-on model train club formed in 1972 to promote interest and education in “live steam” railroading. We are a club that operates on 7.5” gauge private tracks in Texas and surrounding states. The club has several sanctioned meets each year when members come together to learn, laugh, and enjoy the hobby. These meets are when the members run and ride trains using any form of motive power: live steam, electric power, gas over hydraulic power and even pedal power. The Southwestern Live Steamers is a multi-era club with representation of all eras of railroading from steam engines to modern diesel electric engines. If you have a train, please load it up and bring it. Each of the private tracks has a transfer table with a lift that will adjust to the height of the trailer or truck bed. If you are interested in attending a meet, review the schedule as shown on the Timetable page: https://www.southwesternlivesteamers.org/timetable. If you would like to become a member, click on “How to Join” at the top of the page: https://www.southwesternlivesteamers.org/how-to-join.

We are constantly growing and adding new equipment and tracks to our roster. Please visit and enjoy what we love so much and remember: you do not need to own a train to be a member. Contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
